Porsche teases new concept: Is this an electric 718 Boxster?

The German sports-car brand will reveal all in Munich next month.

Porsche has teased a new concept car, set for reveal in Munich on 6 September 2021.

Little is known about the upcoming vehicle, however according to an Instagram post from Porsche it will feature “cutting edge technology combined with breathtaking design.”

The tightly-cropped image of the concept’s left headlight released by Porsche (shown above) bears a loose resemblance to that of the Taycan performance electric sedan – suggesting the concept will be all-electric.

Recent reports out of Europe indicated Porsche is working on a concept convertible sports car, which would preview a zero-emission successor to the two-door 718 Boxster and Cayman sports cars.

The Taycan performance sedan – which launched in late 2019 – is currently the only fully-electric model sold by the German manufacturer, however an all-electric mid-size SUV wearing the Macan name is set come onto the market in 2023.
