SAIC Motor Australia has issued a recall notice for the 2016 MG6 Plus, as the car is missing its central child restraint anchorage point.
According to the company, Core-spec cars were delivered without a child restrain anchorage, falling foul of Australian Design Rule 34/02 in the process. Without the anchorage point, the top-tether of a child seat can’t be attached, increasing the risk of injury in an accident.
A total of 57 cars are affected by the recall. The VIN list can be accessed here.
Owners will be contacted by their MG dealer to arrange an appointment. The rear-seat passenger backrest (60 per cent portion) will be replaced with an ADR compliant unit.
Those seeking more information can call 1800 MG CARS (1800 642 277).
