CarAdvice.com Community Guidelines

As the number of eager and engaged visitors to CarAdvice.com continues to grow, so does the size of our thriving and active ‘comments section’.

The flowing and passionate discussion bubbling away beneath every story and video is a vital part of what makes CarAdvice a popular destination for automotive enthusiasts and shoppers alike.

Of course, to ensure the CarAdvice community is presented as an inviting space for newcomers and regulars alike, we actively moderate comments.

Our goal is to inspire lively and considered discussion, while maintaining an inclusive and safe environment for all – including those new-car buyers simply looking for additional perspectives beyond those of our content producers.

It is no mere boast, however, to say that no other automotive website in Australia matches the sheer volume of comments posted to CarAdvice each day, making up close to 3000 comments a week.

Because our community is growing each day, and because we understand there can be confusion over what constitutes appropriate discussion, it can be difficult for our team to monitor discussion to the level our community deserves.

To help you develop a clear picture of our goals, and indeed to help guide our team, we have produced a new Community Guidelines page.

There, you will find details of our policy on appropriate conduct, moderation steps, communication and a basic FAQ. We may add to this over time, as needed.

We appreciate these guidelines may spark passionate discussion in its own right, but we must be clear: although we cannot please everyone, all the time, these are the ‘house rules’. We hope you will respect them.
