2017 Shanghai motor show: What to expect

shanghai-motor-show

Just like the Chinese automotive market itself, the middle kingdom’s motor shows are quickly becoming a dominant force on the international calendar. And, as more Western brands look to establish market share in China, these shows are becoming more important on the global scene.

This year’s big show for China is again in Shanghai, after Beijing hosted last year’s main event.

In Beijing last year, we saw the stylish Haval HB-02 and HR-02 concepts, new DS 4S hatch, a clever skateboard-equipped Audi Q3 mobility concept, the facelifted Lexus IS, the Citroen C6, the Touareg-previewing VW T-Prime GTE, Audi’s new TT RS,  Mazda’s China-only CX-4, and a host of other concepts and production cars.

The list of confirmed Shanghai premieres is small, although we can likely expect the list to grow before the show opens to the press on April 19.

See below for the full list as it currently stands, and stay tuned for CarAdvice’s live coverage, straight from Shanghai.
