Australian pricing and initial details for the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain have been announced this week, with the jacked-up wagon to kick off from $109,900 before on-road costs.

The E220d All-Terrain will be the only wagon-bodied E-Class available locally, and will take on the likes of the Audi A6 Allroad and Volvo V90 Cross Country.

Standard equipment will include leather upholstery, driver assistance package plus, keyless entry and start, dual 12.3-inch driver and infotainment displays, LED headlights, air suspension, roof rails, underbody protection, and 20-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels.

Under the bonnet is the same 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine seen in the E220d sedan, which develops 143kW of power at 3800rpm, and 400Nm of torque at 1600 to 2800rpm. Drive is sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission and Mercedes-Benz’s 4Matic all-wheel drive system.

Distinguishing the E-Class All-Terrain from its more pedestrian wagon siblings available in Europe include the 29mm higher ride height, SUV-style twin-louvre front grille, along with contrasting bumper and wheel arch treatments.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E220d All-Terrain will arrive in Australia in June, so stay tuned to CarAdvice for a full specifications run down in the lead-up to the new model’s local launch.
