Precious cargo, by way of a dozen rare supercars, has been transported on a charter flight from Los Angeles to the Wynn Casino in Macau for an upcoming exhibition.
An impressive collection of exotic supercars – estimated to be worth more than $US100 million ($AU160 million) – has been air-freighted from the US to Macau to be displayed inside a casino, leaving organisers with an eye-watering cargo bill for the return trip.
Transporting one car by plane is a costly endeavour. The vehicle needs to be correctly secured, positioned safely and inspected by customs at both ends of the journey. There’s paperwork, insurance and costs that can run into tens of thousands of dollars.
So imagine the stress levels – and the cargo costs and insurance bills – for transporting 12 irreplaceable supercars with a reported combined value of $US100 million ($AU160 million) on the same aircraft.
The daring logistics exercise was undertaken by California-based JP-Logistics which transported the vehicle collection from the US to the Wynn Casino in Macau for an exhibition. It’s a 19-hour flight, but conveniently Macau International Airport is next door to the Wynn Casino.
The cars in the exhibition are almost as impressive as the logistics exercise, with many counting build numbers in the single digits.
The vehicles have been arranged for viewing around the casino’s shops and restaurants and will be on display from October 1 to November 30, 2023.
What cars are featured in the Wynn Macau Hypercar Exhibition?
