Clarkson, Hammond and May continue their car-based adventures 20 years after first sharing the screen on Top Gear.
US streaming giant Amazon Prime has shared the first glimpse of The Grand Tour’s latest special – bringing Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May together two decades after they first began working as a team on Top Gear.
In a post uploaded to social media platform Instagram by The Grand Tour, the three presenters are seen in a mountain region of Europe with three unique cars.
According to The Grand Tour, the latest special will be called ‘Eurotrash’ – due to be released on Friday June 16 on Amazon Prime.
James May is standing in front of a Crosley convertible – a small, two-cylinder car which was made in the US from the 1930s until the 1950s.
It appears Jeremy Clarkson will be driving a Mitsuoka Le-Seyde – a limited-run, 1930s-style Japanese car, which was based on the Nissan 180SX sports coupe from the early 1990s.
Finally, Richard Hammond is leaning on a Chevrolet SSR, the niche ute which was produced and sold for just three years in the US.
Early versions of the Chevrolet SSR were powered by a 5.8-litre V8 engine, though later examples were upgraded to the 6.0-litre ‘LS2’ which was also used in the Corvette and HSV performance range.
The latest one-off instalment of The Grand Tour is the sixth ‘special’ since the show concluded its traditional season-to-season run in April 2019.
