An additional 200 Cupra Born electric hatchbacks will become available for pre-order – joining the initial batch of 400 – ahead of first deliveries later this year.
A larger allocation of 2023 Cupra Born electric vehicles will be available to pre-order in Australia, ahead of first deliveries of the initial batch this April.
Cupra Australia announced this morning it will make a further 200 examples of the Born hatchback to pre-order, after the initial allocation of 400 vehicles has nearly sold out (35 cars remain).
These vehicles will be available to order online, ahead of delivery “later in 2023”. The initial batch of 400 cars is due to commence deliveries in April.
The Volkswagen-owned Spanish car maker says it “won’t at this stage estimate” the total number of Cupra Born electric vehicles it will be able to deliver by the end of this year.

However, on last year’s electric-car sales leaderboard, the 600 vehicles made available to pre-order thus far would place the Cupra Born in 10th.
The Cupra Born is priced from $59,990 plus on-road costs, which matches plug-in hybrid VZe and pure petrol VZx versions of the Cupra Leon hatch – though both cars are quicker than the Born, and the latter is better equipped.
In a separate media bulletin last week, Cupra Australia said it has received 2100 orders since it opened the books last year.
The company said it has “readily available stock” of VZ and VZx petrol versions of the Formentor SUV – though the Formentor and Leon VZe plug-in hybrids are sold out for now – and can “ensure delivery” of the Ateca VZx and Formentor V “within a few weeks”.
