Mazda has announced a new BT-50 LE variant, which adds a polished bull bar, sports bar, and tub liner to the XTR.
- 2023 Mazda BT-50 XTR LE announced
- Based on the XTR, the LE takes some cues from the Thunder
- Only available as 4×4 pick-up
- Priced from $64,295 plus on-road costs
The 2023 Mazda BT-50 LE has been announced as a new four-wheel-drive variant, sitting between the XTR and the GT in the dual-cab range – despite being more expensive than the higher-grade GT.
The BT-50 LE is based on the XTR model, but gains a polished single-hoop bullbar, a polished sports bar with integrated brake light, and a tub liner, with Mazda pricing the ute from $64,295 before on-road costs.
While the BT-50 LE costs almost $7000 more than the XTR it’s based on, Mazda says buyers are saving $2500 if the additional features were optioned onto the XTR.
Unlike the XTR, which can be ordered in either 4×2 or 4×4 specification, the LE is only available as a four-wheel-drive dual-cab pick-up – powered by Isuzu’s 3.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine producing 140kW and 450Nm, and mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Like the XTR, the LE comes with dual-zone climate control, satellite navigation, keyless entry, rear-view camera, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.
Buyers are only given one colour choice – Ingot Silver Metallic.
The 2023 Mazda BT-50 LE comes with five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and five years’ roadside assistance, and can be ordered now with deliveries beginning in February 2023.
