A digital artist has turned the Peugeot 508 sedan into a stunning two-door touring car in a new computer-generated film.
We’ve come a long way in the world of computer-generated images since Dire Straits wanted their MTV.
This stunning two-door DTM-style Peugeot 508 touring race car undergoing testing at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France – the home of the Formula One French Grand Prix – isn’t actually real.
The Peugeot Sport 5X8 is a collaboration between French car designer Thomas Clavet and 3D artist Jpog.
Taking some inspiration from the hybrid Peugeot 508 Sport Engineered road car, including the lime-green highlights, the 5X8 loses the sedan’s rear doors, adds a giant rear wing and sports a set of aerodynamic ‘turbo-fan’ wheel covers.
While the footage, cheekily teased as low-resolution spy photos, looks far more real than it has any right to, the 5X8 will sadly remain a virtual project.
Peugeot’s real hypercar, the endurance-contending 9X8, will make its first competitive outing this weekend at the 6 Hours of Monza endurance race.
