The Drive team got a sneaky behind the scenes look, right outside our office window…
A tip for TV producers: when filming your next car commercial, maybe check if Australia’s largest automotive publishing outlet is housed in the building next door to your chosen location.
Such was the case last week when the new 2023 Ford Everest was spied – in both Sport and Platinum trim – filming a TV commercial near St Kilda Road in Melbourne.
The Platinum, powered by the new 184kW/600Nm 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine, looks sharp in Equinox Bronze (a $675 option) with standard 21-inch wheels.
Identifiable by the black 20-inch wheels, the Everest Sport (in Blue Lightning) also features the new V6 diesel engine.
We’re not sure what the balloons were for, nor how the creative team conducting the shoot will turn a drab high-rise car park into a vibrant TV location, but look out for the Drive team waving madly from a neighbouring window when the commercial hits your TV later this year.
The 2023 Ford Everest is due in Australian showrooms next month.
