Ford Mustang black accent package teased, but it needs a name

The Blue Oval has tasked its fans to help come up with a new name for its old Black Shadow Pack.

Ford has announced overnight it will be offering a new black accent package for the Mustang.

But the twist is the black pack has yet to be named, and Ford is asking fans to submit their ideas in the hope it will be slightly more interesting than ‘black accent package’.

The Blue Oval says the option will include black pony badges and black-painted aluminium wheels, and though not mentioned, it’s expected the rest of the exterior will receive black highlights in lieu of chrome and other brightwork.

While Ford is referring to it as a naming program, rather than a competition, it’s only open to residents of the United States (including Washington D.C.), and the company is of course discouraging any names that could be considered inappropriate.

A spokesperson for Ford Australia says the Black Shadow Pack was previously offered to Mustang buyers in Australia back in 2020, but it’s understood there are no plans to bring the option back at this stage.

Let us know what your best idea is to name the black accent package in the comments section below.
