2022 Peugeot Expert Sport
A refresh of the mid-size 2022 Peugeot Expert van range is due to arrive in Australia early next year.
The range now crosses four specification levels, with a long-wheelbase (LWB) manual option joining the mid-tier ‘Pro’ grade. Equipment includes four airbags, twin-sliding side doors and 180-degree barn doors at the rear.
Pricing starts from $38,990 (2022 Peugeot Expert City SWB manual) which is $1000 less than the current 2021 Peugeot Expert 150HDI SWB manual ($39,990).
Other prices have been slightly to suit new equipment levels – for example, a 2021 Expert 150HDI LWB auto ($44,190) has morphed into the 2022 Expert Pro LWB auto ($44,990).
Power on City, Pro and Premium models comes from a 110kW/370Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder, with a combined fuel consumption claim of 6.0L/100km in manual and 6.3L/100km in automatic models.
The limited-edition short-wheelbase ‘Sport’ model receives a higher-output 130kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, which is currently found in LWB Expert 180HDI models.
All models include a three-seater bench seat and a glazed bulkhead between the passenger cabin and load area.

Pro grade vehicles benefit from a 7.0-inch colour touchscreen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a suite of safety systems including blind-spot monitoring, autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
The Premium package is essentially an option added to automatic Expert ‘Pro’ models and adds colour-coded bumpers and trim pieces, 17-inch alloy wheels and a ‘Moduwork’ flip-down table and load-through hatch which adds an extra 500 litres of storage space.
Available only as a short-wheelbase vehicle with an automatic transmission, the limited-edition Sport model improves performance with a high-output 130kW/400Nm version of the 2.0-litre diesel, plus 17-inch black alloy wheels, a head-up display, keyless entry, xenon headlamps and (naturally) a Sport decal kit.
We’re a bit disappointed it doesn’t use historic Peugeot-Talbot Sport tri-colour livery, but as noted by Peugeot, the brand expects the level of equipment and the more premium look of the Expert Sport to attract buyers away from a more traditional double-cab ute.
The 2022 Peugeot Expert range will arrive in Australian showrooms in the first quarter of 2022 (January to March inclusive).
