The new Citroen C4 small SUV will be offered in a sole variant in Australia, once it arrives in showrooms this November.
Initial Australian details of the new 2022 Citroen C4 have been confirmed, ahead of a full local launch in mid-November 2021.
Following engine details outed via a government database earlier this year, the new C4 small hatch-turned-SUV slots between the C3 city car and C5 Aircross mid-size SUV in the Citroen Australia range, with the local line-up to comprise a sole, highly-specified variant.
Power will come from a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine shared with its Peugeot 2008 twin, sending 114kW and 240Nm to the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The lesser 96kW tune seen in government documents won’t be available (at least initially), nor will the electric version offered overseas.
A full standard equipment list is yet to be released, however highlights include ‘Advanced Comfort’ seats with 15mm foam internals and a full suite of active safety aids, including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and driver attention alert.
Keyless entry, push-button start, a colour head-up display, reversing camera and a 360-degree camera are also standard.
Australian pricing for the new Citroen C4 is yet to be announced, however estimates drawn from UK pricing suggests a list price just below $40,000 before on-road costs.
