The Ford Fiesta EcoBoost Hybrid and Ford Focus EcoBoost Hybrid models have been announced for the European market. Both models feature a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with a belt-driven integrated starter/generator in place of the regular alternator. The integrated starter/generator recovers energy typically lost during braking and coasting, and stores it in a new air-cooled 48V lithium-ion battery pack.
