Audi R8 V10 Plus Neuberg Edition headed Down Under

Audi Australia has announced a limited-edition version of the R8 V10 plus for the Australian market.

Just 10 examples of the Neuberg Edition will be offered, with a starting price of $402,500 before on-road costs.

Named after the home of Audi Sport – Neuberg, Germany – the all-wheel drive supercar brings a number of unique design elements to the table. Power still comes from a naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine, with 449kW and 560Nm for a 3.2-second sprint from  0-100km/h.

The nose is home to LED headlights with Audi’s laser light high-beam, while the special supercar rides on 20-inch wheels finished in gloss black for a “presence all of its own.”

Audi has also fitted a gloss black engine cover and mirror caps, along with the high-gloss titanium exterior package. Four colours – Tango red, Mythos black, Suzuka grey and Daytona grey – will be offered.

Red-stitched nappa leather adorns the seats, while the roof-lining is finished in Alcantara with a contrasting diamond-stitched pattern as well. All the trim inlays are glossy carbon-fibre, although the door sills have been treated to a (backlit, no less) aluminium finish – with the car’s build number engraved on top, naturally.

Not enough? All 10 Neuberg Editions will be accompanied by an Audi gift box, with a lid that opens at the same angle as the Audi Sport badge. Nope, we aren’t making that up.

The box contains a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, pre-loaded with a selection of ‘beautifully produced’ images and the first locally-produced 360-degree video of the R8 in full flight, along with Bang & Olufsen H6 headphones.
