2018/19 Audi TT RS spied

A lightly-camouflaged Audi TT RS roadster has been spied this week on the roads of Germany, pointing to an upcoming facelift due sometime next year.

Compared to the current car, this prototype sports a slightly larger front grille and a new LED daytime-running light signature. There also appears to be revised bumper treatments, along with more pronounced side skirts.

It’s a less-detailed story at the rear, as the large amounts of camouflage conceal the finer details of the TT RS’s rump. While there are no obvious changes, there could be design changes coming that aren’t fitted to this vehicle.

As before, the signature RS oval tailpipes remain, nestled in a prominent rear diffuser.

No images of the interior were snapped, though you can expect minor trim changes and an updated infotainment system to bring the TT in line with the wider Audi range – though unlike most of the company’s models, the entire media system is housed in the TT’s Virtual Cockpit driver’s display.

It’s also unknown whether the facelifted model will get a power bump in RS form, as the current car debuted the new 294kW version of Audi’s turbocharged 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine. However, the regular TT line-up could gain updated engines.
