The just unveiled Spyker C8 Aileron LM85 will round out the production run of Spyker’s second-generation of sports cars, which made their debut way back in 2010.
Named after the race car number used by Spyker at the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race, just three C8 Aileron LM85 models will be built.
Each of these cars will feature a riveted aluminium body with wider wheel arches, and air intakes fashioned from solid billets of aluminium.
The cars will also sport a paint scheme that reflects the company’s racing livery. One is black with red ‘S’, another is red with a black ‘S’, and the last is black with golden ‘S’.
The interior of C8 Aileron LM85 was designed in collaboration with Milan-Morady of Luxembourg, and will be fitted with custom seats, two-tone leather trim, a turned aluminium dashboard, and Chronoswiss gauges.
The C8 Aileron LM85 is powered by a 4.2-litre supercharged V8 engine from Audi producing 391kW of power and 600Nm of torque. Drive goes to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
Spyker claims the C8 Aileron LM85 can complete the 0-100km/h standard in 3.7 seconds.
When the C8 Aileron goes out of production, it will be replaced by the C8 Preliator, which was first unveiled at the 2016 Geneva motor show.
Initially the C8 Preliator was shown off with a supercharged Audi V8 engine, similar to the one in the C8 Aileron. This has since been replaced by a 447kW/600Nm 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine designed and built by Koenigsegg.
