The Ford Mustang Bullitt could be making a return, with spy images of a special 2018 ‘Stang posted to an online forum suggesting the Blue Oval is preparing a reboot of the legendary nameplate.
Images circulating online show a facelifted Mustang wearing a ‘crosshair’ badge on the bootlid and black ‘Torq Thrust’ wheels with chrome lips – equipment that isn’t currently available on the 2018 Mustang range.
While the grainy pictures don’t lend a clear look at what colour this Pony car is, many are suggesting it’s Dark Highland Green, the signature colour of Steve McQueen’s Mustang in the 1968 film Bullitt, which the special-edition is named after.
Fuelling these rumours is the fact 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of Bullitt, and 10 years since Ford released the last Mustang Bullitt based on the previous-generation of the popular muscle car.
Additionally, an official Ford film earlier this year showed sketches of a Mustang with similar options to the vehicle seen in the spy photos (above).
Do you reckon Ford is preparing a Mustang Bullitt for next year?
