2012-13 Jeep Cherokee recalled for headrest fix

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has issued a recall notice for 1928 examples of the 2012-13 (KK) Cherokee over concerns the active headrests won’t deploy correctly in an accident.

According to the company, a failure in the ‘occupant restraint controller’ might prevent the active headrests from activating in a rear-end collision, increasing the risk of injury to the front seat occupants.

The recall affects 1928 units – a list of the relevant VINs can be found here.

FCA will contact affected owners to warn them about the issue, before sending a separate letter when replacement parts become available and telling them to take the car to a dealer for a fix.
