2015-16 Citroen C5, DS4, DS5 recalled for starter motor fix

Citroen has issued a recall for its C5, DS4 and DS5 models sold between May 2015 and August 2016 over concerns a faulty connection to the starter motor could cause a short circuit.

The French manufacturer reports the 12-Volt connection lug for the start motor may be fitted incorrectly, and could touch a metal component.

If the condition occurs, it may cause a short circuit and potentially pose a fire hazard.

Affected C5, DS4 and DS5 vehicles were sold from 1 May 2015 through 31 August 2016. The VIN list for these units can be viewed here.

Owners of these models will be contacted via mail by Citroen Australia, and will be advised to present their vehicle to their local dealer to have the starter motor connection inspected and, if necessary, repositioned free of charge.
