German modification specialist, Novitec, has designed a wide-body version of the Maserati Levante which looks like it belongs in Fast and the Furious.
Also known for refining the Ferrari F12 and Lamborghini Aventador, the 28-year-old company has announced the Italian SUV to be the next car to get a makeover with the Esteso wide-body kit.
The eight-part kit’s flared fenders add 10 centimetres to the width of the front, while the rear stretches by 12 centimetres.
Helping to fill the wide fenders are 22-inch wheels, with 295/30 R22 front tyres and larger 335/25 R22 rubber at the rear.
Air suspension is standard, lowering the Levante by 25-millimeters, while a naked carbon bonnet and rear lip spoiler are available as options.
The Levante comes with a choice of petrol and diesel engines (the former reserved for overseas markets currently), with the Novitec N-Tronic tuning modules providing newly-calibrated injection mapping, ignition and boost pressure control.
The 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine gets more performance, developing 363kW of power and 660Nm of torque, 32kW and 80Nm more than the standard version.
Reaching 100km/h from a standstill is done in 4.8 seconds, making it 0.4 seconds quicker than before.
Meanwhile, the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel which is the sole engine offering in Australia, gets a bump to 237kW and 680Nm – up from 202kW and 600Nm.
With the upgrade, the oiler sprints from 0-100km/h in 6.2 seconds, which is a significant improvement over the standard car’s 6.9-second claim.
